Cappuccino Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups half and half
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 5 teaspoons instant espresso powder
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate broken into pieces
  • 4 tablespoons very good brandy
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Preparation:

In a saucepan, combine the half and half, 2 cinnamon sticks and espresso powder. Bring the ingredients to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for three to four minutes. Stir frequently. Remove the cinnamon sticks, whisk in the chocolate until melted and well blended. Add the brandy and pour into serving cups. Garnish each serving with whipped cream, chocolate shavings sprinkled on the whipped cream and a cinnamon stick.
