The Romeu Estate near Mirandela is in the trás-os-Montes Region of Nothern Portugal, a region with a Protected Designation of Origin recognised by EU Regulation nr. 1107/96.  Types of olives produced include Cobrançosa, Verdeal Transmontana and Madural, all of which originate from the Region.
